Good Health
Your Continued Good Health!

Let’s get serious for a moment about your health! In spite of what many people think, it is possible to have good tasty meals without blowing away your good health. All nutritionists agree that there are only a few essential requirements for good health, and they include a healthy diet, sufficient exercise, good sleeping habits, and a positive attitude to life.

55% of Australians are overweight, and 27% are obese. Simple energy imbalance, or too much energy in, and not enough out, causes almost all cases of obesity! Our increasingly sedentary lifestyles means that we consume increasing amounts of high energy (and usually high fat) foods. The combination of these two factors, overweight and unfit, can and often does kill us!

A healthy diet almost certainly involves a reduction in meat consumption. There are plenty of ways to get around this, serve up more vegetables on the plate, and think up some different and interesting ways to serve them to your family. When you do buy meat, buy lean meat, and you can find out how to have an enjoyable low fat barbecue by downloading our free BBQ Magic eBook from our home page, or click the link now!

This BBQ Book gives you lots of hints about BBQ's, including cooking BBQ vegetables, buying economical meat cuts, and lots more!

Overweight and obesity are associated with increased risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, some cancers and arthritis, and other life threatening health problems. One only has to look at the millions of diet fad books that are sold each year, to realise that what the experts have been telling us for years is true, that fad diets don’t work! What will work though, is a sensible lifelong commitment to healthy eating, and a good exercise regime.

An exercise regime doesn’t have to be onerous either, park the car a bit further away when you go shopping. Walk whenever you can, don’t just drive to the corner store and back. Walk up the stairs at the supermarket, rather than use the escalator. Stairs are good for you, and good for your heart! Get into golf, swimming, bowls, cycling, or better still, just brisk walking. Have fun!

Eat healthy low fat foods, there are plenty of them. Read up on healthy eating. Drink lots of water, and lots of herbal teas. There is considerable evidence to show that green tea can reduce some forms of cancer, in both men and women, and most of us know how good herb tea is for you.

If you live in an area where it is hard to get fresh grown vegetables, grow your own (gardening is just the best and most pleasant form of exercise!) and/or take a good herbal supplement. Click here! to read more about health matters, herbal supplements, and how you can easily lose weight with them, and stay fit and healthy.

For more information about vitamins, herbs, herbal teas and infusions, and lot's more, visit the Herb 'n Garden information web site.

Don’t forget the other couple of requirements for a long and healthy life, good living habits, and a positive attitude, and lots of laughing! It is a fact that a good laugh is "internal jogging". Laughing also increases feel good brain chemicals, stops the production of stress hormones, boosts the immune system, and does wonders for the heart!

So, if you enjoy life, don't overeat, and are getting a reasonable amount of exercise, you can safely light up the barbie, relax with a nice cup of herbal tea, or a light beer!  Good health to you and yours!
